If you’ve tuned into VidStations from your phone recently, you might have noticed things look and feel completely different.
When we first launched VidStations.tv, our mobile layout was essentially just a scaled-down version of our desktop site squeezed onto a smaller screen. While it worked, we knew that a lot of our community parties from their phones—holding their device naturally in portrait mode while hanging out in the chat.
You deserved an experience built ground-up specifically for your thumb, your battery, and your screen.
So, we completely scrapped the old layout and built a brand-new, standalone mobile shell designed exclusively for phone partygoers.
What’s New in the Mobile Experience?
The Sticky Video Stage (No More Floating Windows)
Say goodbye to annoying floating Picture-in-Picture boxes bouncing around your screen. The new mobile station layout anchors a sticky, high-definition video stage right at the top of your screen in portrait mode. As you scroll down to check the chat, look at upcoming tracks, or browse active games, the music video stays pinned firmly in place.
Under-Video Popup Control Deck
To give you maximum screen real estate without obscuring the music videos, we introduced interactive popups that slide seamlessly under the video stage. With a single tap on your mobile action bar, you can pop up:
- Live Chat & Reaction Boards: Preview the most recent message directly on your main layout or bring up the full chat panel without losing sight of the music video.
- Add-Ons & Party Games: Bring up interactive trivia, poll voting, and room jukebox features instantly in their own pop up panel.
- Front Row: A limited number of dancers show right below the video and if the station gets crowded, you can popup the full front row view in its own dedicated panel.
- Audience: The number of viewers is shown under the video, click the number to bring up the audience panel with the display names
Native App Chrome & Full Screen Video Landscape
We added a dedicated app header featuring a clean top bar and a bottom navigation menu for effortless one-handed swapping between stations, hypes, and your personal profile. Want to go full widescreen? Turn your phone horizontally, and the app chrome automatically hides, expanding the video into immersive, full-screen landscape viewing!
How to Add the App to Your Home Screen in 5 Seconds
Because VidStations is built using cutting-edge Progressive Web App (PWA) technology, you don't need to hunt through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and you don't need to waste gigabytes of phone storage.
We made installing it easier than ever:
Open VidStations.tv in your mobile browser.
Tap the More tab on the bottom menu (or open the top right menu).
Tap Install App and follow the instructions!
That's it! A clean, neon-styled VidStations app icon will drop directly onto your phone’s home screen, launching in full-screen, borderless app mode with zero browser clutter every time you tap it.
Quick Manual Install Setup (If You Prefer Browser Options)
iPhone / iPad (Safari): Tap the Share button (the box with an upward arrow), scroll down, and select Add to Home Screen.
Android (Chrome): Tap the three dots menu in the top right corner and tap Install App (or accept the instant pop-up banner at the bottom of your screen).
Desktop (Chrome/Edge): Click the small Install Monitor icon located on the far right side of your web browser's address bar.

Because iPhones and Android devices aggressively save older web app files to keep them loading fast, your phone’s home screen icon might still be opening the old layout!
To get the new mobile experience: Simply delete the old VidStations icon from your phone's home screen, open vidstations.tv in your browser, and reinstall it using the quick steps below. The new app will auto-update and you won't have to do this again.
